Sulwhasoo first care activating serum review

After slacking for a couple of weeks (months maybe :P) finally I'm back here for some reviews. (Gotta turn this into my beauty blog I guess *evil grin*)

What I'm gonna review today is the all famous sulwhasoo first care activating serum! *drum rolls*

Well I came across this brand long long time ago, it's a renowed brand in Korea, but it's a little pricey, (although it's well worth the money :D) I believe not many in Malaysia has heard about it. Sulwhasoo is a skincare brand which claims to have used only natural ingredients in their formula, especially traditional herbs (Chinese herbs), with their range of products targeting women aged 25 and above, tho they do have some products which can be used by young ladies age less than 25 ;)

There are only 3 sulwhasoo counters in Parkson Malaysia, namely Gurney Penang, Pavillion KL, and 1 Utama, which makes it not widely available in the market, apart from the price factor.

It's believed that traditional Chinese herbs, if used in skincare, are able to balance the 'qi' (or known as 'energy' in English) of the skin, giving a radiant and flawless complexion.

Enough of the stories, so here are the photos!

The box.

The back of the box. Yeah that's the price tag.

The ingredient list. In multiple language.

The bottle. Sleek design with matte glass. The volume is only 60ml.

After removing the cap. It's a pump bottle.

Squeezed a little bit into my hand. It's light brown in colour, light texture, and easily absorbed by the skin.

I bought it while they're having promotion, so I got a set of trial size skincare kits for free, together with a pouch. Pouch is not shown here.
Freebies!

The back of the box. A list of what's inside the box. U can actually get this trial kit at RM59 from Hermo. ( http://www.hermo.my/mall/2535-sulwhasoo-雪花秀-basic-kit-4-items.html?ucf=search-product-photo ) perfect for travelers or trial use (it's stated there not for sale by the way)

So here's the instruction on how u should use sulwhasoo first care activating serum:

After cleansing your face and pat it try with towel, squeeze a little bit of first care activating serum on your hand. Rub it in between your hands and apply it on your face. After applying the serum, rub your hands together to warm them up, then place them on yr face. The heat will assist the absorption of the serum. After it's well absorbed, continue with normal skincare regime.

U don't expect instant effect with sulwhasoo, same as u don't expect to be cured by Chinese medicine  just after 1 dose. Use it continuously for at least one month to see your skin regain it's vitality. You'll see your skin become healthier, more hydrated, brighter and pimples that pop up will subside easily without any medication.

*Anything that gives instant effect shouldn't be used on daily basis, due to the active ingredients in their formula, prolonged continuous use might trigger some unwanted adverse effects.*

Rating: 4.7 stars, great product, but pricey.
Price: RM250, with freebies.

Yadah air powder pact review

Hola, I have been busy with shopping, eating, sleeping and procrastinating these days. Haha. And finally I'm back for some product reviews. :D

In this post, I will review about yadah air powder pact, light beige.

Let's have a look at the exterior before I start.

Paraben free, artificial colour free, mineral oil free, benzophenone free, tar colour free, animal material free. So now we know what can exist in a normal, cheap, lower end product. Scary right? Start to care for your skin by choosing good products, such as yadah, which is formulated by using plant extracts.

The back part of the box, written in Hangul, don't understand a word of it other than 9g, made in Korea, and the expiry date, oh ya, and the distributor's name and address too. Haha.

The powder pact casing, plastic casing with a glossy finish. Looking good.

The back part of the casing.

Open sesame. The puff is so smooth and soft.

Took out the puff, flipped up the transparent puff casing, and this is the powder pact. Good design. At least they don't let the puff to be in contact with the powder.

A close shot of the powder pact. Hohoooo... It's so smooth and silky. And it smells good.

And the smooth and soft powder puff. Sorry for the discoloration, I've used it once. Haha.

Applied it on my hand. See the difference? Left side is the side where I've applied a layer of the powder, while right side has nothing on it. See the glow? It blends very well with the skin, giving a natural glow and even skin tone. And SPF 35 PA +++ sun protection is good for outdoor use. :D

Overall this product is cool, nice packaging, great smell, good for daily use, controls oil production on the face, and most importantly it's free from harmful chemicals.

Rating: 4.5 stars
Price: RM49, but I got it as free gift from purchasing more than RM110 on yadah products on Hermo. So grab it while u still can! XD

P.S: always remember to use makeup remover to remove all sorts of powder, sunscreen, make ups, foundations, BB creams, etc on your face before u sleep. It's mandatory! Or else...hehe..u don't need me to say it out, right? :)

Annie's way masks review

I just got hooked, by these ordinary-looking-sadly-packaged little things.

I never thought they could do miracles!

I went for shopping at gurney paragon today, and I didn't expect myself to bump into something so AMAZING at the basement floor!

The fairy tales started when I accidentally entered a shop called maskslim (sounds like a beauty and slimming centre haha). They're having sales for their masks, and they particularly recommend this brand from Taiwan -- Annie's way. The first time when I heard about the name I was like WHAT IS THAT WEIRD NAME I'VE NEVER HEARD OF. On further explanations by the sales girl, I knew that it's a brand from Taiwan, and is famous for its gel masks, which costs RM85/bottle, which I didn't buy in the end because it' said little bit pricey and I've had loads of masks in bottle. Back to Annie's way, they have 5 main sheet masks series, moisturizing, anti acne, whitening, anti aging, anti allergy. The sales girl recommended me the anti acne series, due to multiple outbreaks on my skin *sigh* and a few pimple scars on my cheeks (blame my exam!!!)

Surprisingly I bought them, despite the fact that they're a little bit over-priced, but got sales mah, who can resist? :P (excuses, excuses..haha..) buy 5 free 1, buy 10 free 3. Because I always shop-safe, I never buy things in bulk before I try them out, so I've decided to go for buy 5 free 1. I bought 4 from the anti acne series, 1 from anti-allergy series and another 1 from moisturizing series.

I've decided to try it out just now when I was too bored. After washing my face, I put on the blue corn mask I got from the body shop to do some deep cleansing and exfoliating work. Annie's way comes after that.

Seaweed anti acne mask is strongly recommended by the sales girl, so I've chosen it to be the first. :D

The mask sheet is made from 蚕丝,silk paper, so it's thin, flexible, smooth and loaded with essence. I can even squeeze the essence out from the paper. Sorry no photos are available for the mask sheet before I use it to prevent bacterial contamination from my iPad. Haha. It's folded together with a piece of pearl paper (plastic lah, haiyo, just wanna make it sounds nicer :p), which is something I don't really like because I'm very lazy to separate them from each other.

It smells exactly like seaweed, with a hint of honey. Nice smell!

The mask sheet adheres very well to my face, the size is not too big nor too small.

After applying it for 20 minutes, I took the mask off and pat the essence dry on my face. It absorbs very fast into my skin, leaving no slimy feel, unlike Innisfree masks, which will leave slimy residues. I apply the rest of the essence on my skin, and it feels so gooooddd...

A glimpse of the mask sheet. :D

Skin feels so smooth and refreshing, the essence is so soothing and cooling...

I kinda regretted for not buying the gelly masks after trying out their sheet mask. I believe the gelly masks will be more awesome than this sheet mask. Forgive me for not knowing about this brand earlier. I'll surely polish up on my beauty info during this long holidays. Sigh~

I'll give this mask a rating of 4.7/5, alcohol free, great mask sheets, I'm lovin the essence, will definitely purchase it again! RM7/pc, but I think I might be able to get it at lower price somewhere.

That's all for now, stay tuned for more new product reviews. :D

Innisfree it's real masks review

Hi all, I'll review about Innisfree it's real series masks in this post. :)

Innisfree is a well known brand in Korea, I believe, and it really works! The ingredients they use are all natural and even the smell is natural, unlike other brands which are loaded with perfumes.

It's real series masks has 20 flavours to choose from, namely adlay(barley), rice, mugwort, tea tree, green tea, aloe, bija, bamboo, cucumber, olive, broccoli, lemon, golden kiwi, acai berry, rose, pomegranate, royal jelly, manuka honey, avocado and shea butter. Each and every one of them is fully loaded with their own serum and smell.

So far I've only tried rice and broccoli, and I can tell u that it's GOOD! My skin feels instantly smooth after I've removed the mask from my face. And the smell is heaven! It doesn't smells like fragrance or chemical. It's just too soothing and relaxing.

The mask sheet isn't too thick, somehow a little bit fragile, so u will have to be careful while taking it out from the packet. The photo above shows the after-use mask sheet. It adheres very well with the skin.

I just love Innisfree masks! Natural smell, soothing effect! And above all, it's not expensive.

Rating: 4.5/5, too good to be true. But it's kinda hard to get in Malaysia, it's sold at around 990won in Korea (if I'm not mistaken, around RM3++ after conversion) if u have any chance to grab it, just stock up as many as u can!

That's all for this post. Good day!

Laneige multiberry yoghurt pack review

Hi there, I have just gotten my very first laneige product today, and I can't wait to share with all of u out there!

Meet my new love! <3

This product came in a box, which is not sealed, but worry not, the inner part is properly sealed, and u can't smell anything from the outside. The ingredients are written in Hangul at the back of the box.  Nice pink bottle, I'm so in love with the design!

So I opened the cap, and this is what I've got, after peeling off the seal.

See that? It's so full! And the very berry creamy smell makes me feel like eating it (smells like the strawberry flavoured Rocky biscuits)

It comes with a spatula in the box, and here's a photo of how it looks like.

Very very creamy~~~

One spatula is already more than enough for the whole face!

I spread the whole thing on my face. It feels a bit sticky, and creamy of course, and the smell brought back some childhood memories of me eating strawberry Rocky biscuits, lol. Maybe I should dip and eat it with some finger biscuits. My hair tends to fall and stick on my face when I was applying it, that was the most annoying part.

The instruction booklet says that the optimum time for this mask is 10mins, but I've decided to leave it on for around 15mins (don't waste :p)

So I rinsed it off after 15mins, and guess what? It left my skin soft and moist! It's unlike some masks that dry up my skin after washing off. Even my blackheads came out quite easily after using it. I can still smell the strawberry Rocky smell after washing, but it's not so strong, not a problem for me.

Conclusion: great product, good for dry and combination skin (I guess), maybe a lil bit heavy when applied on the face, nice berry smell.

Rating: 4.2/5, price is RM76 (a little bit expensive, but it was on sales, so I couldn't resist, lol), I got mine from Hermo, always my choice of online shopping site! :D

Petitfee gold EGF eye and spot patch review

In this post I will review about Petitfee gold and EGF eye and spot patch.

Made in Korea, this eye mask is selling like hot cakes over here.
It is packaged in a small box, with the ingredient list written in Hangul.

After the cap is opened, you can see that it is properly sealed, but yet, you can still smell the fragrance. I like the smell very much, very refreshing and relaxing smell.

After the seal is peeled off, you can see hydrogel eye patches loaded with serum, and the smell, oh..is heaven...

Each big piece of eye mask weighs around 1.1g, and there're 60pcs of them, while the round shaped patches weigh around 0.6g each, 30pcs.

It comes with a scoop, to prevent contamination. And while scooping it out, you can see the fragrant essence dripping from it. So rich and loaded!!! And the gold glitter in the mask!!! I just couldn't resist...

After applying it below the eyes, for around 15-30 minutes, (you can apply the round patch anywhere u like), you can see those jellies getting thinner and thinner, indicating absorption of the essence into your thirsty skin cells. You will feel a very cooling sensation when applying, some claim that it stings, but so far I didn't feel any stinging or redness. Stinging could be due to excessive dryness of the skin, some sellers said so, I'm not sure bout that, but they said the stinging sensation will disappear after using it for a few times.

The effect? I just love it! It's so moisturizing that I can see the difference between the applied area and the non-applied area. But for dark circles I guess the effect wasn't so obvious, maybe with frequent use then only the effect can be seen.

In the end, after you've done with it, you can dissolve the remnants of the gel in some hot water and apply on your body as moisturizer (if you're hardworking enough. Haha). But usually I just apply it on the rest of my face until it dries off, then off it goes into the bin.

Price: RM49/bottle, I got mine from Hermo (google it if you're interested, but they always run out of stock for this mask, restock today, then tomorrow they're completely gone)

I'll give this mask a rating of 4.5/5, I'm so in love with it!!! Gold luxury with an affordable price!

Sephora green tea mask review

Forgive me for me absence in these few weeks, was busy with exams and stuff. Hehe

In this post I shall review about sephora mask, green tea flavour.

Sephora green tea mask has a very attractive packaging. It is packed in a round shaped envelope.

The back part of the mask. One thing that is very disappointing, it is made in China, and the ingredient list is in Chinese. It contains paraben, of course. They claim that the green tea extract they use is from Spain.

The mask sheet is not pure white, it's a little bit brownish, and I can't smell any fragrance. Well in fact I can't smell anything. The mask sheet is not too thin nor thick, just the right thickness. After applying it I did not notice any huge difference, but on the next morning, some of my pimples subsided a little. (Exam stress XDD) other than that, not much effect can be seen.

I will give this mask a rating of 3/5, buy only when it is on sale. Better than average masks (the face shop, elianto) but still not as good as other higher end masks.

NP: RM4/pc or RM16/5pc (if I'm not mistaken)

Online shopping

Another issue in Kelantan, no other place to shop other than KB mall. Sad right?

But worry no more, there is always something called ONLINE SHOPPING.

Still worrying about the security of your bank account if u shop online? Actually there is nothing much to worry about, as long as u have CIMB clicks or Maybank2u, payments are easy and hassle free, and they send verification codes to your mobile phone to confirm the transaction. So if u realise that something is wrong, u can call the bank straightaway.

Want to shop but don't know where? below are a few reliable online shopping websites:
1. www.hermo.my
Our most preferred website to shop for cosmetics and skincare, and they have special deals everyday, check it out. U can pay by manual transfer (email them the proof of transfer afterwards), or u can use ipay88 which is provided at the website. I prefer manual transfer tho, no extra charges if u transfer at Maybank atm. Buy 2 and get free shipping, and accumulate credit points for discounts during next purchase (must be more than 500 points). Prompt reply from their admin, and flash shipping, most probably will arrive within 3 working days after payment.

2. www.elianto.biz
Not an elianto person? Wait! Can u resist RM1 per item deal? How about 50% deal? Elianto has loads of affordable and nice cosmetics and nail care products. I love their eyeshadows and nail polishes in particular, they have vibrant and colourful range of eyeshadows and nail polishes, which are really good to use. Their online payment is really easy, where u can pay directly to them after u've been directed to one secure page. P.S: go for elianto brown capped nail polishes, they dry faster and are smoother.

3. www.taobao.com
Taobao, one of China's largest online shopping website, I believe many of us have this perception that China products are cheap and low quality, but hold on, this isn't true. Give taobao a try, then you'll be addicted to the wide range of products they're offering, from clothing to cosmetics, etc etc. You will be amazed at what u can find there. The agent i use for taobao is Joagnes fashion, u can search for them on facebook. They're very patient and nice, and they can help u in getting the best dealer from taobao. For the method of delivery, choose shipping, which is cheaper, and no extra charges for sensitive items, eg: liquid, powder, branded stuff, etc.

4. http://www.groupon.my
    www.lazada.com.my
Lastly, i would like to group these two websites together, because I personally never tried buying from them before. My friends did bought from Groupon before, and claimed that the website was quite secure. It's just that the things might turn out different from the illustration, so, choose wisely.

I might add one a few more websites later after I've tried buying from them.
Online shopping is really addictive, and is the best way to destress. Have fun shopping!

Place to eat 1

well, I don't usually blog about restaurants, cafes and stuff, but here is one that I would recommend to each and every one of you in Kelantan..

Western Deli, previously was called Harpers Seven (i guess so), located in pengkalan chepa, just next to Lucky Seven..

Looking at the name, you would certainly think that they only sell WESTERN FOOD...but, NO... their local food such as Char Kuey Teow, etc, taste equally good as their western ones..

I went there on last Valentines, because they were setting up the place for their Valentines dinner (RM130 for 2), we had to make ourselves comfortable at the smoking area.. Maybe because they were occupied with preparing food and setting up the place for their 'special guests', the service wasn't that good, but thank God they don't charge for service or government tax..

I would recommend trying their western menu, such as the American chicken (which tastes like heaven according to my roommate), and also their Char Kuey Teow and fried Japanese udon (which is the best I've tasted in kelantan). There're cakes available for dessert too, but too bad they don't look appetizing to me. Price is reasonable, environment is comfortable, scrumptious food , plenty of car park in front of the restaurant.. overall rating 8.5 stars, so far one of the restaurant with the best food that can satisfy my picky tastebuds..

fried japanese udon (5 stars)
